Marte Meo® “One’s Own Power”

Interactive coaching with video support for parents, educators, teachers, and other professionals

The Marte Meo method was developed by Maria Aarts in the Netherlands at the end of the 1980s. Marte Meo means “on his own”. Marte Meo works in all fields related to activation as well as support and mentoring of development and learning processes.

The Marte-Meo method uses the power of images, a simple and comprehensible language,to create an environment conductive to development and to strengthen the expectation of self-efficacy. In October 2010, speaking at an event in Aachen with with Maria Aarts, Prof. Dr. Gerald Hüther, a well-known neurobiologist, explained the power of Marte Meo as a tool:

“… To pay attention to the small moments of success, so that people come into their power. And to enter into a fruitful, appreciative, mutually reinforcing relationship…”

Marte Meo is now used in more than 50 countries worldwide. In Germany, it is used in daycare centers, schools, outpatient and inpatient youth services, clinics, occupational therapy practices, speech therapy, care for the elderly, disability support, couples counseling, coaching processes, communication training in companies and many other areas.
